Lantern Festival 2015

The lantern festival at Wurhi was so much fun! There were lanterns of every size, shape, and color…it was a bit of a sensory overload, but a good one at that.

This majestic thing is called the “lucky ram” and, you guessed it, is supposed to bring good luck for the new year. At the beginning of the lantern festival, during a very windy night, the head fell off while it was rearing up on its hind legs during the light show. This is supposedly very bad luck, but really, it was just an engineering mistake. Don’t worry Taiwan, I’m sure this year will still be very lucky and prosperous…just maybe not for the engineers :p

Well, there’s really not much else to say about the lantern festival, so I’ll just let these pictures do the talking writing.
